So, you would feel that the newspaper article on flags captured and those with battle honors (8th LA for sure, and couple of NC units) is a mis-statement by the reporter? The Louisiana Brigade, along with the North Carolinians, were in Early Division/Ewell's Corps, so appearently not one of the units that recieved battle honor painted flags? Also, the 8th lost their flag at Gettysburg, and the one lost here was a replacement. Could the Richmond Depot send them one with Battle Honors?
