The Civil War Flags Message Board

Re: 31st Tenn's flag not captured at Franklin

I'm going this weekend to the LOC and national archives. Is there anything that could help on this subject, you would suggest?

I was thinking of books on the history of Sharp/Anderson's Brigade.

I want to find out all the Union regiments that would have been in that area when Sharp's brigade attacked.

Do you think Lane and Conrad's Union brigades that were posted half a mile in front of the main line, lost some flags? I read that those two brigades lost 1,000 men k/w/pow. I actually had a family member in the 27th Illinois Vetern (Detachment) (attached to Conrad's brigade), he was captured and spent 4 months at Andersonville. We found 11 Prouty's that fought at Franklin. Of all places we found so many Prouty's/Pellerin's was on Ancestry.com. We found so much, actually better then the national archives.

Well I will see what I can find this weekend on Sharp's brigade.

Have a good night, everyone

Shawn
