Re: 2nd Florida Infantry Flag Ebay#180059373638

I looked up and found one 2nd Florida Flag on there. I have seen another copy on there as well. I did not specifically see the ones you referenced by number. I'm Ebay stupid so I apologize. The flags they typically are offering and copying are 2nd Florida Company flags carried by the individual companies of the 2nd Florida and are not Regimental but company colors. The originals can be found in the Museum of the Confederacy flag collection in Richmond Va. Specification write ups on them can be found in the "Colours of the Gray" flag book that can be purchased online through their haversack store. Needless to say the reproductions that are offered on ebay while they have the "Look" of the originals and are quite pretty, they do not follow the correct materials or construction that the originals were made out of. The mottos displayed on both those flags were the mottos of the companies that carried them. Of the two originals one was silk, the other wool bunting. The motto on the one was cotton appliqued on, the other company used cotton tape to form their letters and needless to say the stars were NOT embroidered. I have currently misplaced my copy of the flag book so I can not give the exact specifications. One I recall is Co C, Columbia Rifles and I believe the other was Company G? Hope this was helpful.
