Re: 2nd Florida Infantry Flag Ebay#180059373638

Rick,
Respectfully I cannot even bring an image of the flag up on the ebay listing. I finally was able to find the listing but there is not an image available. The sketchy description would be of a company flag which they stated it was but they have no other description beyond that the flag in question was bunting. Please re-read my posting and you will see I was not commenting on the specific auction that you were referring to. I found the one reproduction flag. My posting was only providing information about the known documented surviving 2nd Florida Flags. Currently I know of the two examples of Company flags in the MOC. There are also two regimental battle flags in the possession of the state of Florida. The very first regimental flag was a silk First National sent home to Col Ward's family following his death at Williamsburg. Years later the veterans went to the family to see if they could retrieve it but age had destroyed it and it was just a mass of rags. The Second Flag was lost on Pickett's Charge at Gettysburg and has not been seen since it's capture, there is lots of conjecture as to what it actually looked like. The 3rd and Fourth flags are as I said in the possession of Florida. If you saved the auction and it has the images I would love to see this flag, but as I stated in my first posting I did not find the auction you were referring to. Now that I have seen the auction it is sans images which does me little good.
