Hello Lamar, I promise you I am not trying to mislead anyone, I could only fit so many words in the title and if you read the whole listing it quite clearly states as does the actual letter from Lt. Col. Lawrence that the notes were surrendered by General Lee and were part of his Army's funds which they gave up at the time and were receipted for by the then Federal Government in the form of the said A. B. Lawrence. I am sorry if it looks like I am trying to mislead, I assure you I am not. If it was possible to amend the title and fit in enough words to say that it was General Lees armys own funds then I would bit I cna not amend the title once there are bids and could not fit the words on anyway.

By using this forum I am trying to ascertain more information and help on something that here in England no body seems to know a lot about. I only wish my Dad was still here ( more than anyone can know, I would give anything for just 1 more hour with him;)but if he was then we would not be selling his things.
