Re: Union flags captured at Chickamauga

Everything I posted is what I have found so far. I am not ruling out the 92nd Illinois flag and would be very happy if you had any info on that flag.

The 92nd Illinois was in Wilder's Brigade but was detached to Reynolds's division. The 25th Tennesee (Colonel Snowden) poured a vicious volley into the 92nd Illinois's right flank. The 92nd fell back but held on a few minutes with their spencer's but they were out in the open while the 25th TN was in the woods. The 92nd fell back and saw hundreds if not thousands of Union men retreating, some stealing the 92nd's horses that were tied up. Col Atkins of the 92nd Illinois did not leave a guard on the horses. Mostly Dick's brigade stole the horses. The 92nd Illinois would join back up with Wilder's Brigade later in the day.

I have not found anything...yet that the 92nd Illinois lost a flag.
