Re: 39th Illinois flag capture - Fussell's Mill

I am happy that is cleared up. This is why we need more books on the smaller battles. I have big red book called,
"The Confederate Order Of Battle", The Army of Northern Virginia, Vol 1 by F.Ray Sibley, Jr. 1996.

The 10th Georgia Battalion was also known as the 3rd Georgia Battalion. I do not see this regiment at Mine Run so they must have Arrived in the Spring of 1864. They are listed from May 1st-June 17th, 1864.

The 10th Georgia Battalion was in Wright's Brigade along with the 2nd Georgia Battalion, 48th, 22nd and 3rd Georgia in June, 1864. Maj. John E. Rylander was Killed

July 1864, the 64th Georgia was added to the brigade.

August same as July but I see that Maj. James D. Frederick was wounded in the 10th Georgia Battalion (commanding).
He was wounded 16 August, 1864.

September, 1864--Captain William A. Greer is commanding.

October, 1864 the brigade is commanded by BG. G. Moxley Sorrel. (Promoted to BG 27 Oct, 1864.) Captain Greer is still in command of the 10th Ga Battalion.
