Re: Maj Wheat's La battalion at 1st Bull Run

Hi, good information, on your text - " Major Wheat's Bttn, "Captured a stand of Colors" ?? " I wrote a couple of times to the Manassas Battlefield people asking if they knew what colors where captured, never did get a response. Any ideas? My thinking is perhaps it might be a Rhode Island unit, as the battalion, as a whole, did good work early in the battle and Matthews Hill. Afterward the broke up upon Wheat's wounding. I do believe Co B (Tiger Rifles) was able to retain some command structure and do some damage. I not found anything on the othe companies and what they did.
