If the Confederates kept records of Union flags they captured, my life would be so easy and simple lol. (I track down Union flags captured).

The only Union units that could have lost a flag were: 2nd Rhode Island (first to engage in battle), 11th New York regiment, Wheat's men did a knife attack on them when they got tired of loading muskets. Sherman's Battery was also in the area. I read on this website that Wheat's battalion had captured 2 pieces of Sherman's Battery.

Now the thing is, was the 2 cannons from the famous Sherman or T.W Sherman? I dont believe the famous Sherman lost any artillery, I think history thought that and I believe the 2 cannons are from T.W Sherman's battery.

Wheat's battalion lost 8 men killed, 38 wounded and 2 missing. Not bad for 5 hours of fighting.
