Charles and I think that of all the Union states, Vermont lost the fewest colors. I had read about the 4th Vermont and the 11th Vermont (battalion) on June 23rd, 1864. Both of these regiments were captured but somehow the 4th Vermont did not lose any flags. The 11th Vermont battalion was "almost entirely captured", it did not mention if they did lose a flag or did not. Oh that's the fun part lol.

4th Vermont lost: 7 officers and 137 enlisted men captured.
