I was digging around checking out my old magazines and came across an old article in the March/April, 1994.

"Civil War Times".

On page 53, it had this to say:

"By afternoon help finally arrived on this part of the field in the form of Confederate Brigadier General Jubal Early's brigade, which launched a flank attack and came sweeping through the Tiger Rifles' position. Joining the assault, the company overran a battery and captured two cannon, which the men later presented to the Washington Artillery of New Orleans."

Maybe it was an artillery flag the Tiger Rifles company captured?
