Tom Stuart emeiled me about this privately.. Since no otehr flag for the 10th Tn exists that we have found so far (and I am writing a book on TN Civil War flags as we speak), we may have to go wher ethe unit served after its exchange from the Donelson debacle.

I highly doubt they used another two-sided flag like the one at Donelson (Irish on one side and First National on the other). They served with Gregg's Brigade in Mississippi fighting at Raymond among others.

I suspect they used another First National flag since they were operating outside of the control and supply of the Army of Tennessee. This brigade was sent to North Georgia for the Chickamauga battle (prior to it) and although placed in a division with a brigade that used Hardee pattern battleflags, we just don't know if there was enough time to issue these flags to the 10th and the rest of Gregg's Brigade. The flags were usually made by soldiers with tailoring skills so it would come down to if enough blue and white cloth was around to make them.

In February/March, 1864, the 10th Tennessee would have been issued one of the rectangular 13 star Augusta Depot battle flags, possibly with battle honors painted in black on the white fimbration.

Chickamauga is the most flag confused battle in the West as most of the major patterns used to that time, and a few of the monir ones too, were on that field during the three days of fighting. Since so many reinforcements were added to the AOT and the AOT was shuffled around before they arrived, it will be hard, lacking any actual flags themselves, to pin much of this down.
