While doing a little research in Booth's, I came across the name of Private Smith Noel, Company A, 2nd Louisiana Infantry. The entry states that Noel was appointed as the regimental flag bearer on 29 July 1861, and he remained the flag bearer until his discharge on 29 July 1862 under the Conscript Act.
