While looking at the microfilm at the National Archives, I saw a "148th...." lost a flag. Now I do know the 148th Pennsylvania lost a flag at Ream's Station on August 25th, 1864.

But this does have me curious if this could possible be a flag from the 148th New York?

We are working on all Union flags captured or recaptured later in the war. I have the full list from the War Department.

I can check the 148th New York's regimental history at the LOC. That is if they have it.

I will get back with you on this, it has us very curious on this flag.
