I am looking for any information or pictures for the flags of the Louisiana 24th Infantry Regiment, also known as the Crescent Regiment. This regiment was later consolidated with the LA 11th Btln and the 12th Btln (sometimes called the 16th Btln). Any information on the original flags of these battalions would also be appreciated. The only flag that I know of is a guide flag for Co A at the Confederate Memorial Hall in N.O.

I am very new to Civil War research. Can anyone tell me what flags a typical Louisana regiment would carry. Did they carry a state flag, regimental flag, battle flag and company flags? Were there flags for the brigade that they belonged to? The Crescent was part of the Army of the West and later the Army of the Trans-Mississippi. Did these armies also have distinct flags?
