I am trying to find out a description of the battle flag of the 20th Tennessee Inf. Regmt. (CSA) at the time of the Battle of Nashville. I know about the early war presentation flag but don't know whether the 20th carried the Johnston flag in Dec. 1846, and if so, were there any battle honors or nomencalture on it. Also, was it captured on Shy's Hill. I believe 4 flags were captured at the summit. If it was, does anyone know where it went.
As to the 13th U.S.C.T., my information is that the regimental color was a presentation flag from the "colored ladies of Murfreesborough" and that it was captured on Peach Orchard Hill on Dec. 16th, 1864 and sent south from Nashville with the retreating confederate army. Does anyone know what it looked like as I would like to reproduce it (as well as the 20th TN. Also, can anyone confirm where it went.
