Well I found out that not all the flags turned into the War Department (Union wise) were "captured". Seems a few Union regiments turned in their flag or colors for safe keeping. Now I don't know how many regiments did this but for sure "Reserve Cavalry Brigade flag with 45 battles" was not captured.

If anyone knows about this and if I could be wrong, and I hope I am, please contact me. Has anyone ever heard of this before?
