Thanks for the information. I hope that you're able to find the photo. I don't know of another one in existence. At the end of the war, the story goes, that the flag of the Consolidated Crescent was torn into little pieces and given to as many men in the regiment as possible. This one that you refer to must have been for the original Crescent. I wasn't sure if they changed flags when the consolidation took place.
Again, I am new at this; forgive my ignorance. Can you tell me who is Ken Legendre. You mentioned that the armies had their own flags, do you know where I can find a picture of the Trans-Mississippi? What would be a good reference book on flags for a beginner?
