Fello Fred,

The 35th Tennessee were n Cleburne's Division at the time of Ringgold Gap (late Nov., 1863). If this unit is using as a guide the picture of the alleged 35th Tennessee Hardee flag from Perryville please know there is also no historical basis for that flag. It is pure fantasy!

The units at Ringgold Gap in Cleburne's Division are as follows:

Lidell's Brigade

2nd/15th Arkansas
5th/13th Arkansas
6th/7th Arkansas
8th Arkansas
19th/24th Arkansas

Smith's Brigade

6th/10th Texas Infantry/15th Texas Cavalry
17th/18th/24th/25th Texas Cavalry
7th Texas Infantry

Polk's Brigade

1st Arkansas
3rd/5th Confederate
2nd Tennessee
35th/48th Tennessee

Lowrey's Brigade

16th Alabama
33rd Alabama
45th Alabama
32nd/45th Mississippi
15th Mississippi Battalion

Sadly, only one or two of the above flags from this time fram still exist.
