As you may know, we offer a service through the message boards to obtain copies of service records, pension applications and other military records. I have been working with a lady recently, who has informed me, that a collection of her family's documents is housed at a Louisiana university. Included in these files is a remnant of a flag, which is claimed to be that of the Crescent regiment. Her story is that when the regiment was disbanded the flag was divided up among members of the unit and this is one of those pieces.

I was wondering, if this is something that should be left in the family file or is a remnant of the Crescent Regiment flag worth an attempt to extract it from the file and display separately?
