Mott's report at Chancellorsville:
"Subsequently this brigade made several charges with the bayonet, capturing eight stand of colors".
"(Among which was the flag of the One hundred
and twenty-third New York Volunteers) and over 1,000 prisoners, adding fresh laurels to its almost universal fame".
