My gg granduncle, William A. Flowers, was the color bearer for the 4th/5th Consolidated Tennessee Infantry at the battle of Franklin. His service record has no mention of this. He was promoted to 4th Sgt. on Aug. 20 1863. I wonder if this is the date he became color bearer?
He was mentioned in the book, "Henry County Commands", 1904 Edwin Rennolds, as color bearer at Franklin. This is how I know & the only info I have on him as color bearer. I'd like to find more info about his service & time as color bearer.
