The Civil War Flags Message Board

Re: Attempt Two - Unidentified Flag

The flag in the photo does appear to be the Pennsylvania coat of arms for the state. An eagle over a globe with horses to either side. From the size of it it would appear to be a marker, end of the line or company flag of the early CW. Why did you think it had a NM - New Mexican connection? I live in NM and so far, the only flag we have identified for the civil war out here is the silk colors of the 4th Texas Mounted Volunteers (Cav) that is in the UDC collection in Texas. If any one has any info on colors for the NM Campaign of 1861 - 62, I would love to hear from you with your info, documentation, photos of any flag and its current location. Look forward to hearing from anyone on this subject. Thanks, John.
