Union flag captured at "2nd Deep Bottom"

From the Magazine "North and South." Volume 4, Number 2 (January 2001) Page 29.

Battle of Fussell's Mill on August 16th, 1864.

Pond's Union brigade (10th Army Corps, 1st Division, 1st brigade)

"Barbour's North Carolina brigade, charged the trenches with Pond's Union brigade and the 9th USCT and captured 1 Stand of Colors."

Now Pond's Union brigade: 39th Illinois, 62nd Ohio, 67th Ohio and the 85th Pennsylvania. Plus the 9th USCT Regiment.
Only this brigade was against Barbour's NC brigade. Somebody in those five regiments lost a flag.

Well I hope this helps someone out on the battle.

Have a good morning!
