Excellent!! I do believe a Regular US regiment lost a "regimental flag." This sounds just like the blue flag. Most likely is the one sent to West Point.

I just can not see the Regulars "never losing a color." At Chickamauga King's Regulars were hit hard, I have never found anything if they lost a flag, but those losses were pretty high.

I sure do wish the Confederacy would have given some type of medal or something for captured Union colors. Something that would have been logged in a register book.
