Is there a source detailing information on the specifics of 'general guide flags.' These are the small flags carried at each end of a regiment to identify the width of the regiment. Looking for size, materials, style (star, crescent moon, ??) carried on the flag. Saw a picture of the 7th NY and it appears the guide flags looked like the American Flag, stripped, but without the canton and stars. Am keen to get info on any Louisiana Unit, preferably one in the ANV. Thanks for any direction or assistance
