I am doing the book of Tennessee Civil War flags for the Tennessee State Museum and in the intensive research I have done for that I have not located any surviving flags for the 25th Tennessee Infantry.

However, 3 flags exist for the combined 25th/44th Tennessee. Two are ANV battle flags, one taken at Drewry's Bluff in 1864 and the other at Petersburg in April, 1865. A third flag is their First National which was also taken late in the war and although it is only marked "44th Tennessee", it was used by the combined regiments.

The first and last flags are in private hands today while the Museum of the Confederacy has the middle one (WD 344).

I am not at liberty to share the pictures for them as they are for publication only. Hopefully the book will be out late 2009.
