Sadly what harms this flag's lustre is that its history is so unclear. I think the flag is real too - barring a proper textile analysis that says differently of course - and I think the flag should have that done to be sure.

There are at least two other AOT flags in private hands - one I have seen personally (5th Georgia)and know its current owner and one I have pictures for (one of the Florida units - the 6th maybe?) and I know a guy who knows the owner. There's also one in a small northern museum taken by the 10th Ohio Cavalry. There might be others out there that have not popped up as yet.
