I am doing a drawing of the battle at the summit of Shy's Hill and the breakthrough at Finley's Brigade. I hope to put it in the kiosk at ths site. I want to be historically accurate and my question is whether the flag of the 1st & 3rd Florida was carried at the battle. The flag in the photos looks so new and untouched. My references state that there is no history on the flag but it appears it was never captured. It looks like a ceremonial or presentation flag never used with all the battle honors up through part of 1864. Does anyone have any history on this flag and whether it truly was a battle flag and was it at Nashville.
