Re: 1st and 3rd Florida Battleflag

I guess I got this rodeo rolling.....................Sorry! I am an FNG to this site only having posted several times in the past. I find the site fascinating and very informative and have been impressed with the willingness of people to share their opinions and sources and I thank all of you for your assistance, especiaaly Todd and Gregg. I have no flags, no artifcats (except the generic mini balls) no first accounts, nor agenda but I do have an evergrowing interest in the battleflags. What I do know is that there are alot of assumptions and few actual facts. Assumptions, we all make them, can ring true, or later be found to be wrong, but just like the scientific method, they have to be brought to the table, examined, discussed and proven by peer examination. Its great to debate and bring forth diverghent opinions. It is quite another to let egos rule. I respect those that have done the research and hold the respect of other people and other organizations. While even they may have assumptions that may sometimes turn out not to be accurate, that doesn't mean that they don't know what they are talking about or when they question someone else that it is a personal attack.
I know one thing................I will always remember the 1st & 3rd Fl. and Rucker's battleflag....whether it is a brigade parade flag or not.................I learned something I did not know.... that there may be such a thing!
