Hello All
I have recently aquired the book, The Flags Of Civil War Arkansa, by Glenn Dedmondt and, was suprised to see a representation of the Battle Flag (Hardee) of the 5th & 13th Arkansas, p139. Although Mr Bedmondt mentions that the flag is in private hands and, generally not available to public scutiny I wonder if any member of this message board has seen the flag and if so is it correct in respect of the illustration in Mr bedmondt's recent work.

Secondly; also noted in his work is an account of the 3rd Arkansas Cavalry at Thompson's Station and the heroics of Alice Thompson holding the regimental flag aloft and, rallying this regiment. The question I have is what particular pattern was the flag as other units with Van Dorn I believe carried a departmental flag (such as the 3rd Texas Cavalry) or did the 3rd Arkansas Cavalry retain its old Van Dorn (Army of the West) flag.
