Right, I don't know how I missed "Battle's Brigade" from the short quote I provided, and as you stated the flag was captured by Alabamian soldiers.

So at the second position Cox is opposite Keiffer and his 4 batteries. According to George Rhodes, he describes New't Jones getting across Cedar Creek. I don't see Cox near Cedar Creek, it appears he is near Buffalo Marsh Run (not sure as it not identified in the CWPT map) and maybe Rhodes was mistaken on which stream Jones crossed. So if Battle's Brigade captured the 5th Maine Battery's flag, I wonder which Battery lost its flag to George Rhodes?
