Hello. My name is Sebastian Nelson and I am a member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. My Department Commander has asked me to compile a list of Civil War flags that are in the Department of California and Pacific. Not necessarily those flags from out west, but rather those Civil War flags, regardless of origin, which can now be found in either public or private collections in the borders of our Department (California, Nevada and Hawaii).

I have a good deal of information on those Civil War flags in the California State Capitol Museum, but not much else. I really enjoy this message board, and I was wondering if any of you might be willing to consider sharing any information you might have about Civil War flags that are currently in California, Nevada or Hawaii. I would, of course, give you full credit in any list that gets produced, and I would make sure to get the permission of any private collectors before I mention their flags.

If you don't have any helpful information, perhaps you can recommend the names of any flag collectors in this part of the country who might be able to help me?
