I would be interested in what Gregg had to say. My 3Great Grandfather was killed at the Battle of Williamsburg May 5,1862.General Early sent the flagstaff and flag back to the Family and we still have the flagstaff. We do not have the flag and i cannot find out what flag was sent back, a Magruder flag or the flag we all know of today. His name was Col. G.T.Ward who commanded the 2ndFla.Reg. and a few others that day.If anyone has any ideas it woud be appreciated!!!!Even Bruce Graetz of the Fla. museum(R.A.Gray Building) isnt sure.
