I have found a battle that Burnside had won. Yes, won. It was at the Cumberland Gap. I do have the order of battle for the confederates whom garrisoned the gap at about 2,300 men and fourteen pieces of artillery. They surrendered without a fight, with a few hundred, perhaps one to three hundred, managing to escape, but the rest surrendered, but in Burnsides' official report there is no mention of colors captured.
