That is often incorrect. I have a umber of file son these fake flags and many of the ARE sold are originals with statements like, "it passed the black light test, " " found in an estate sale," etc. coming in their "provenance."

I testified in a police case in Tennessee about three of these over a year ago that were sold as authentic flags from the period.

So far as the one-side issue, the First and Second Nationals of these fakes I have seen never had stars placed on them nor is there even a canton typically on the reverse side for stars to be part of.

This is way beyond stars being taken for momentos here - this is outright fraud.
