Hey Shawn, I found a flag that was returned by the Fifth Virginia Infantry after the war. It belonged to the 28th New York Volunteers and it was captured at Cedar Mountain, one of perhaps three flags that was captured by Jackson's men. According to two newspaper articles the two sides met, during some rain, and the former Confederates returned the flag, though it was only described as one and never which type, but they happily returned it and the Southerners invited their new friends to come to Virginia to their reunion for their hospitalities
