I don't think the guy had a clue. I don't even think he knew that it was a Confederate flag. He just said that he found it in a chest that he inherited, and that since someone in his family had been in the Civil War, he thought it might be from the war. It belongs in a museum, but was appraised for $40,000. Thus, it will likely end up in private hands. Here's the link:
