Shawn --- Glad I ran across your website. I have been searching for years to identify and possibly get pictures of the 31st NC Regiment and the 15th NC Regiment. You show a flag captured in Roanoke Island in 1862. MY Great grandfather was with the 31st there (Pvt. Norman Timothy Johnson), captured and sent home. He immediately joined them after a week or so at home until wounded at Ft. Harrison in Richmond in 1865. If you can get me a picture I will have a flag made to keep. Also three of his brothers served with the 15th NC and only one of them survived (William Alexander Johnson) to return home.I would also like to get a picture of that flag if possible.
