Hi Dave,

it is a mess of things for flags at this time of the war. Between the first of April, 1865 and up to before the surrender at Appomattox, the ANV loses close to 100 flags in combat actions with big days being the 6th Corps breakthrough west of Petersburg and Saylor's Creek.

I take Howie and what else is out there to mean that there were two flags taken with CSS Nansemond connections - the ship's ensign, a Second National as Ken has noted (Ken - I don't have a file on this one - do you know where it is, etc.?) and the ANV flag from Tucker's Naval Brigade.
