Hello! My Great-grandmother (Kate Hill Lampkin) was the step-daughter of Col. Emory F. Best. Her eldest son was my paternal grandfather whose name was William Emory Lampkin, and then when her sixth and youngest child was born she named him Emory Best Lampkin. My own paternal grandmother named her second son William Emory, but he passed away in infancy. My only brother also carries the name William Emory Lampkin, but has no children to carry on the name.
