New info on Crater flags

I came across a "Google Book" that was a huge help. This is what I found.

100th Pennsylvania actually lost (2) flags. They lost their old State Flag and "the one given to them at Camp Copeland." (Any suggestions to what that flag was??) Their State Flag "had inscribed on it the names of every battle the regiment had ever been in."

The 20th Michigan lost (1) flag to the 9th Alabama. The 20th Michigan claimed they had "cut up the other flag and buried in pieces in the Crater." The 20th Michigan lost 17 out of 22 officers and lost a total of 53 men. All colors guards were captured.

1st Michigan Sharp Shooters, lost (1) flag to Sgt. J.W.Connelly (State Flag). Out of 100 men they lost 45. That flag (State Flag) went to General Beauregard. The 1st Michigan SS, lost (3) flags total.

57th Massachusetts, "Regimental Flag captured along with the color guard."

The 37th Wisconsin, had 250 men in the attack and lost 145 men. Only 95 men left, had 34 killed and lost 57% of the regiment. Nothing on flags.

4th Rhode Island, of 200 men they lost 83. Flags might be safe.

45th Pennsylvania, did save (1) of their flags, not sure yet if all were saved. (The 45th PA, captured the 6th VA's flag.)

Here is the link of that "Google Book"

http://books.google.com/books?id=AAkhQABTIAoC&pg=PT305&lpg=PT305&dq=57th+North+Carolina+captured+the+57th+Massachusetts+flag+at+the+Crater&source=bl&ots=uqwdwk7xJw&sig=TBzMYjXXy5v37AMhWGuPUZvEl2g&hl=en&ei=dMyKSpyfCZP6MdTv_MYP&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=3#v=onepage&q=&f=false

If that link does not work, here is the name of the book.

"The Battle of the Crater: A Complete History By John F. Schmutz"

That book was a huge help,

Have a good morning,
