Thanks for posting this and for all of your comments. The gentleman in the center of the first photo (blue shirt, white gloves and CWPT hat)is Dave Neel from Birmingham. He is a long time supporter of the Flag Conservation Project and is an expert on the capture of the flag and the 5th Alabama Battalion. He has also been instumental in locating and preserving several Alabama flags over the years. The APG is an outstanding group of military historians and artists. None of this would have been possible without them. They have truly saved the flag.
