Here is some info. on my ancestor that you requested:

Enlisted: Atlanta, April 1861 Jackson Guards company(Captain James H. Neal)
Appointed Flag-Bearer for Jackson Guards company flag

4th Brigade,2nd Regiment Infantry State Troops, Co. B (Jackson Guards)
Camp Brown(Officer's & N.C.O.'s training): Color-Sergeant Apr-May 8th 1861
Camp McDonald(school of instruction): June 11th,1861-August 2nd,1861

Later transferred to Confederate service as Company "B" 19th Georgia Volunteer Infantry Regiment C.S.A.

Wounded: August 29th,1862 Manassas,Va.

December 13th,1862 Fredericksburg,Va
Promoted: to 2nd Lieutenant on January 16th, 1863
Resigned: October 8th, 1863
