Re: Pennsylvania Flag Symposium

They definitely owe you a commission. I went ahead and ordered a copy of the "Advance the Colors" set, also. Couldn't pass up $14.95 for a set of books Amazon.com was advertising for $45 each. I haven't settled on which style of National Color I'm going to attempt. I've found a picture of the 8th Wisconsin's colors that I liked. They were the lone representative from Wisconsin at Mansfield and Pleasant Hill. Also, one of my friends wife can trace heritage back to a soldier in the 169th Pennsylvania. They have a unique history to say the least. They lost more troops from illness and desertion than they did in combat. I thought about replicating their colors as a salute to her, but, I'd really like to do one from a unit that served in the Western Theater or more specifically, the Trans-Mississippi Theater. I live about 45 miles from Sabine Pass, so doing one of Banks' invasion force's colors would also be an option. How-some-which-ever, I am still researching.
