If Malcom McQuagge was captured at Eucheeanna, his name does not appear on the Federal P.O.W. lists. Three different lists of the captives were prepared during and immediately after the raid, he is not listed on any of them.

Another possibility is that he could have been captured or killed in a raid by a deserter gang. Numerous attacks were carried out in and around Walton County by these groups, particularly Ward's Gang. A lot of people in the region also simply disappear from the record during the war years.

Douglas Ferry, by the way, was destroyed by the Federals during the raid.
