Yes, Company C, 1st Florida Reserves fought at Marianna on September 27, 1864.

The unit was supposed to move to Chattahoochee, but an unexpected raid by Union troops on St. Andrews Bay and Econfina in July of 1864 caused state officials to change their mind and leave the company in Marianna.

They were still there in September when Marianna was attacked and fought as mounted infantry during the battle. One member of the company was wounded and seven taken prisoner in the fighting. The rest made it across the Chipola River bridge and were among the men who held the crossing throughout the afternoon.
