If my post sounds a bit edgy, I hope you'll forgive me. Please don't be offended -- it's not you; it's Ancestry!

Jesse and Joseph B. Ezell are two different men. Jesse was born in Alabama and lived in Santa Rosa County; Joseph B. was born in Sampson County NC and lived in Taylor County.

Military records are NOT Ancestry's strong suite. First they managed to enter records from two different service files, presenting them as if they all belonged to the same man. Then they stirred in a liberal dose of nonsense, so it's a mess to sort out. They give you 'unit numbers' that don't mean anything, 'distinguished service' that doesn't mean anything, and then you're supposed to believe that Ezell was discharged for disability several weeks BEFORE he enlisted!

Perhaps Ancestry has been experimenting with trained chimpanzees, but whatever they tried didn't work.
