The best source for information on Dickison's military activities is the Official Records set. You can access these online through Cornell University at:

http://cdl.library.cornell.edu/moa/browse.monographs/waro.html

Just look for the volumes with information on Florida and you'll find many of his reports, etc., there.

The colonel wrote "Confederate Military History of Florida" which is still available in print. You can order it through any of the major online bookstores or through your local book supplier. They may even have it at some of the bookstores in Tallahassee or Gainesville.

There also is another book that may be of interest, "J.J. Dickison: Swamp Fox of the Confederacy" by John J. Koblas. It is still in print as well.

Best,
Dale
