Re: Confederate units at Pensacola

Haven't heard anything about the NPS starting it. There is one Charter Captain who uses another boat to transport people for $25 a head. The people have been griping to the 'officials' but you know how the Feds work. Gotta do all those 'environmental' studies. Heck, most of the skunks have been gone for years. Used to be infested with them. There's a real hefty fine for killing a rattle snake. A man did when it came close to his child and he had to go to court and pay a hefty fine. The road to the toll booth is ok. It's just that last few miles. Don't know either how those grave stones from the Chasefield Plantatian they have outside the fort entrance stood up. There's no bodies under them but they are Wm. Chase family tombstones.

Part of the delay is the NPS just has not had the funds and there were other parks that were damaged from the 'Cain's' in 2 years so it's a dogfight for money. The road from Pensacola Beach to Navarre hasn't reopened all the way either. Live Oak Reservation had some tree damage but it's up and running and still beautifu. Barrancas and Redoubt are doing fine.
